Wealth Advisor Weighs-In On The Case For A Prenup

Forbes had a recent article where a Wealth Advisor shares his approach to helping clients considering a Prenup -

"Lees has worked through prenups with athlete clients after signing. In other cases, he’s talking to clients (typical net worth: $25 million) and their young adult children about prenups—explaining that you really should do one six months to a year before a wedding date. “Parents are more concerned about asset protection than in the past,” he says. These aren’t easy conversations. If the child says, “No way!” then he restructures the parents’ estate plan to provide asset protection that the prenup normally would provide, typically by putting a more restrictive distribution standard on trusts for the children."
